Vizio TV with Articulating Mount

Vizio TV with Articulating Mount

This newfangled HDTV

Earlier this year I purchased a 47” LCD HDTV from costco.com which at the time had an instant $250 rebate but $100 shipping. The reason I bought from the “.com” of Costco instead of the physical Costco is because the physical Costco was out of stock at the time, plus it was cheaper on costco.com because of the rebate. Although, “the estimated delivery time will be approximately 20 business days from the time of order” I did receive it just before the Super Bowl. Got that?

My initial reasons for buying an HDTV were:

  • A TV I could hang on the wall above the fireplace
  • A TV that could endure the future
  • A monitor that could possibly act as the screen for a media center device
  • A TV that had a built-in HDTV tuner since it was impossible to find a decent outboard tuner for our previous “HD Ready” TV
